PCA Music Program
Welcome to the PCA Music Program, where the symphony of education meets the crescendo of artistic expression! We are thrilled to open the doors to a world of musical discovery, creativity, and growth. At PCA, we believe that music is a powerful vehicle for personal and  intellectual development. Our Music program is designed to provide a comprehensive and immersive experience, catering to students of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re a young prodigy taking your first steps in the realm of melodies or an advanced musician striving for excellence, our academy offers a dynamic platform for you to realize your musical aspirations. We offer classes in General Music, Band, Choir, Handbells, and Praise and Worship.

General Music
PCA students begin with General Music in grades K-4. General music is a vibrant and essential part of a young student’s educational journey. Rooted in the belief that every child possesses an innate connection to music, this program introduces students to the magic of sound, fostering a lifelong appreciation for the art form. In general elementary music,
students embark on a captivating adventure where they learn to listen with intent, to create with curiosity, and to express themselves through the universal language of music. Through a blend of interactive activities, creative exercises, and hands-on experiences, young learners are encouraged to develop their musical abilities, fostering a well-rounded skill set that extends beyond the classroom. Band

Beginning Band
In grades 5 and 6, students join our Beginning Band. This band is designed to introduce aspiring young musicians to the captivating world of instrumental performance. In Beginning Band, students embark on a voyage of discovery, where each note played becomes a stepping stone towards mastering an instrument. With a supportive and nurturing environment, this program provides a solid foundation for instrumental technique, music theory, and ensemble dynamics, setting the stage for future musical achievements.

Concert Band
In grades 7-10, students have the opportunity to participate in Concert Band. The Band prides itself on its commitment to fostering well-rounded musicians. Beyond mastering instruments and perfecting technique, our curriculum delves into the rich tapestry of music theory, history, and interpretation. As you immerse yourself in the world of scales, harmonies, and dynamics, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the language of music. Discipline and dedication become second nature as you
practice and refine your skills. You’ll have the opportunity to shine under the spotlight in exhilarating concerts twice a year. These experiences don’t just build your musical prowess; they shape your character, boost your confidence, and create memories that will resonate throughout your life.

Instrument Rental and Books
The PCA Music Program has a limited number of instruments available for
rent at the beginning of each school year. These instruments are rented on a first-come-first-serve basis for $10/month. The charge for the instrument will be added to your student’s account.

Choir
In grades 7-10,students at PCA also have the opportunity to participate in Concert Choir. As a member of our choir, you are embarking on a musical journey that goes beyond the realm of notes and lyrics- you are becoming part of a tightly-knit community that thrives on artistic expression and collaboration. Our choir program offers a nurturing space
for you to discover your unique vocal identity and shine. The curriculum delves into the intricacies of vocal technique, breath control, diction, and interpretation. As you refine your vocal skills, you’ll also deepen your understanding of the cultural, historical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of the music you bring to life. Performance is an important part
of the choir experience. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in concerts and Education Sabbaths at our constituent churches.
